Evan Vare and Rachael Dorwart Named PA Gatorade Soccer Players of the Year

Two former ODP players have taken home one of prep soccer's highest honors.

Evan Vare, a senior, led Central Bucks East to the PIAA AAA State Championship, scoring 42 goals along the way. He plays his club soccer for Lehigh Valley United. Vare is a two-time winner of the Philadelphia Inquirer's Player of the Year.

Rachael Dorwart has already accomplished so much as a player through her sophomore campaign. A midfielder for Cumberland Valley, Dorwart was selected to training camp for the US Women's Under-17 National Team last fall. She's committed to play for the University of North Carolina.

Congratulations Evan and Rachael!

The Gatorade State Fall Soccer Players of the Year were selected based on athletic production and impact in the 2015-16 fall season. Each winner also demonstrated high academic achievement and exemplary personal character, including volunteerism, sportsmanship and community leadership.
