The preliminary round of the US Youth Soccer ODP Region 1 Championships took place this past weekend at Rider University in New Jersey.

Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer sent teams ranging from U13 to U17 with several of those teams finding great success.

In total, five Eastern Pennsylvania teams won their groups: U13 Lanco Boys, U15 Boys Team 1, U16 Boys (pictured above), U17 Boys and U15 Girls Team 1.

The U16 Boys and U15 Girls were particularly impressive. The boys put together a two-win, one-draw weekend and outscored their opponents 21-4. The girls were more stingy in defense. They went 3-0 with a goal differential of 8.

The U15, U16 and U17 teams advance to the finals in two weeks time.
