Final 4 Teams Book Trip to US Youth Soccer Region I Championships

The Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup Championships finished up Sunday with the final four championship matches played at Temple University-Ambler Campus. Each team played its final match seeking the State Cup Championship.

The wins assure the teams of a spot in the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships to be played in Kingston, RI., June 26th through July 1st.  Winning that regional competition would catapult the team to its ultimate destination in Germantown, Maryland in late July for a shot at one of the oldest and most prestigious titles in youth athletics--US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Champion.

More than 250 teams battled their way since March to make it to the final State Cup games for the under-9 through under-17 age groups played at United Sports in Downingtown, Pa a few weeks back.  The Under-18 and under-19 boys and girls are the final teams to complete for their chance to win a State title and move onto Regionals.  More than 5,000 players are expected to compete at the Region I Championships in Kingston this summer with an additional 10,000 soccer enthusiasts in attendance.
