Job Description: Director of Coaching (DOC)

            The Director of Coaching (DOC) will work directly with the Board of Directors (BOD) to achieve growth and development of the athletes in the club. The DOC will be instrumental in providing coaches with the necessary tools to technically and tactically develop players. The DOC is a part-time salaried position which includes a non-traditional work schedule of evening hours, weekends, and some holidays. Travel may be required. The DOC will perform the following coaching and administrative duties that include, but are not limited to:

Coaching Duties:

  • Recruitment, selection, guidance, development and evaluation of Club coaches
  • Responsible for working with BOD on tournaments, camps, and associated development programs
  • Design and implement a coaching education program utilizing field sessions that allows for evaluation and instruction of our coaches 
  • Coordinate, oversee and direct tryouts for all age groups
  • Approve tournament schedule and assist teams in choosing appropriate tournaments and leagues

Administration Duties:

  • Attend LYSC board meetings and sit on Coaches Committee
  • Maintain positive relationships with BOD, coaches, players and community at large
  • Develop relationships with local college coaches for the benefit of LYSC and its players
  • Seek corporate and other donors/sponsors for the club


  • High energy personality with interpersonal skills
  • Possess a U.S. Soccer License, minimum “D”
