Charlotte Moran Being Inducted into the US Youth Soccer Hall of Fame

Former Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer’s President and Executive Director, Charlotte Moran is being inducted into the US Youth Soccer Hall of Fame at the 2014 Awards Gala taking place January 17, 2014 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown during the US Youth Soccer Workshop. Seeking to expand the recognition for those who give their time and efforts to the organization by way of service, US Youth Soccer awards and recognizes those individuals at the annual ceremony.
 
Charlotte began her career in youth soccer in 1979 as the Secretary for the Lower Southampton Association. She then held various positions for the Inter-County Soccer League where, in addition to serving in a number of administrative positions, she became the administrator of the league's girls select program, a job that would begin a long and successful career in girls soccer in Region I and in US Youth Soccer. Charlotte served as the Girls ODP Administrator for Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer for 17 years, Region I Girls ODP Administrator for 12 years, US Youth Soccer National Chair for Girls ODP for 4 years and chaired the Women's Committee of US Soccer for two years. She also was a member of the NSCAA Women's Committee and the NSCAA Diversity Committee as well as serving as the Youth Girls Representative on the NSCAA Board of Directors. The US Youth Soccer, Region I, U14 Girls Cup named "Charlotte Moran Cup" to acknowledge Charlotte's outstanding contributions to the women's soccer game.  Charlotte passed away in 2009 after a bout with pancreatic cancer served as Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer’s President and later as Executive Director.  She has previously been inducted to the Region I and Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Halls of Fame.
 
The US Youth Soccer Hall of Fame was created in 2008. Donald Greer was honored as the charter member for founding US Youth Soccer and his service in developing the association. Players, coaches, referees, administrators or meritorious honors can be given.
 
Players who have distinguished themselves with an outstanding standard of play and/or performance as a member of US Youth Soccer and participated in youth games as a registered member of US Youth Soccer for at least six consecutive years can be recognized. Administrators, referees and coaches who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments and/or leadership that have made significant contributions to the improvement of the sport and its participants nationwide that have contributed directly for a period of six or more years at the national level of US Youth Soccer can be recognized. Meritorious recognition is awarded to individuals or organizations involved in the support of US Youth Soccer in non-playing capacities.
