ALLENTOWN, Pa. (May 7, 2017) – The 2017 Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup Championships concluded Sunday with 12 championship matches at the Lehigh County Sport Fields.
A total of 224 boys and girls teams started the competition in March. Just 24 were left standing on Sunday to compete in the finals. The winning teams will advance to the US Youth Soccer Region I Presidents Cup Finals in Barboursville, West Virginia June 17-19, where they will play for a spot in the Presidents Cup National Championships.
The U12 Boys and Girls runners-up as well as the U14 Boys, U15 Boys, U14 Girls and U16 Girls runners-up will also compete at the regional championships as wild cards.
The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.
