19U Age Group Added for 2020-21 Seasonal Year

2020-21 seasonal year update

2020-21 Seasonal Year Update

US Youth Soccer is now offering another age group, 19U which would be added into the 2021-2022 seasonal year. 19U age group at both the Regional and National levels of competition.

Additionally, and as a clarification for the upcoming 2020-2021 seasonal year, in both the Regional and National Presidents Cup competitions, the oldest participating age group will be 18/19U. This age bracket at the Regional competitions will more than likely include 18U teams, 19U teams, and teams that consist of both 18U & 19U players. The National Presidents Cup will still consist of the 4 regional winners advancing, regardless of their age makeup.

Eligible players’ must be born on or after January 1, 2001.

Given the current challenges faced by so many members of the USYS Family, USYS is hopeful that this will allow more players to not only experience the thrill of heightened competition but also fulfill their dreams of being champions.

This one-year change is in place to allow players to participate in one additional year of eligibility due to the missed programming as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
