112 Eastern Pennsylvania Players Selected for East Region ODP ID Camp

June 15, 2026 by easternpennsylvaniayouthsocceradmin

A total of 112 players from Eastern Pennsylvania have been selected to attend the 2026 East Region Olympic Development Program (ODP) Identification Camp, one of the most significant steps in the US Youth Soccer ODP pathway.

The group includes 62 girls and 50 boys who earned selection through their performances during the 2025-26 ODP season. At East Region ID Camp, players from 15 state associations throughout the East Region will come together to train, compete and be evaluated in a highly competitive environment.

Hosted at the FSA Complex in Farmington, Connecticut, the camp provides players with the opportunity to showcase their abilities against some of the top talent in the region while continuing their development at the highest levels of youth soccer.

Players selected to East Region ID Camp will be considered for inclusion on East Region ODP Teams, which will represent the region at the US Youth Soccer ODP Interregional Event in February 2027.

The girls session will take place July 6-8, while the boys session is scheduled for July 10-12.

Congratulations to all 112 Eastern Pennsylvania players on their selection and best of luck at East Region ID Camp.

Ivory Coast Earns Dramatic Victory in Philadelphia World Cup Opener

June 15, 2026 by easternpennsylvaniayouthsocceradmin

Philadelphia welcomed its first FIFA World Cup 2026 match on Sunday as Ivory Coast earned a dramatic 1-0 victory over Ecuador in a Group E matchup at Philadelphia Stadium.

After a scoreless battle for much of the match, Ivory Coast found its breakthrough in the 90th minute when second-half substitute Amad Diallo finished off a pass from Wilfried Singo to secure all three points.

Ivory Coast controlled much of the game, particularly in the second half, creating more chances and holding the edge in possession. The match remained level thanks in part to the crossbar, which denied multiple scoring opportunities for both teams throughout the afternoon.

The victory gives Ivory Coast an important start in Group E as the nation looks to advance beyond the World Cup group stage for the first time in its history. Ecuador, which entered the tournament with high expectations, will look to bounce back in its next group stage match.

Philadelphia’s first FIFA World Cup 2026 match delivered late drama and marked the beginning of the city’s role as a host venue for the tournament.

Philadelphia’s role in FIFA World Cup 2026 is just getting started. The city will host four additional group stage matches following the opening match between Côte d’Ivoire and Ecuador:

  • June 19: Brazil vs. Haiti
  • June 22: France vs. Iraq
  • June 25: Curaçao vs. Côte d’Ivoire
  • June 27: Croatia vs. Ghana
