
We mourn the loss of our friend and colleague, Central League President Jeff Morris. Jeff was one of the most passionate leaders in our soccer community, as a player, coach, and administrator. His love of the game was undeniable, and his tireless efforts to grow the game will always be remembered.
About Jeff Morris
Jeff Morris passed away peacefully on Monday May 25th, 2026, at home in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his partner and love of his life, Heidi Meertz, her three children Sophie, Isabelle and Julie, his brothers Robert and Richard, sisters-in-law Mary Helen Morris and Anne Morris and nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Robert, Sarah, Wilson, Natalie, Caroline and Luke. He is predeceased by his brother Scott and his parents Irma and Robert.
Jeff was involved in soccer on the Main Line for over 25 years including coaching at Episcopal Academy Boys, Villanova University, Haverford College, Radnor, and Harriton High School programs.At school in Massachusetts, he played for Pittsfield High and was inducted as a Goalkeeper into the Berkshire County Hall of Fame. He also captained his team at Muhlenberg College and recently had the soccer field named in his honor.
Locally in PA he continued to play first in the Carroll Alumni Soccer League and then at YSC with his friends on Thursday night in the “Real Average” team.
As well as his coaching and playing exploits he founded and was the Executive Director of WCUPSA camps and programs, the Coaching Director of Main Line Soccer Club and became President of the CLS Soccer League.
Jeff’s personal interests were focused on global travel, and he climbed mountains in the Andes, played soccer in developing countries, lived amongst indigenous peoples, and generally had a love of life.
He will always be remembered by those who knew him and were infected with his passion for soccer and his catch phrase that will linger – “PLAY ON!”
