Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer joined community leaders, soccer supporters and local residents on Thursday evening to celebrate the opening of the new Pottstown Soccer Mini Pitch at Pollock Park, creating a new space for youth and families to play the game and connect through soccer.
The mini-pitch marks a significant milestone in the ongoing redevelopment of Pollock Park. Following years of environmental remediation efforts, the facility represents the first major redevelopment project completed at the site in more than a decade.
The new playing space provides increased access to soccer opportunities within the community while creating a welcoming environment for informal play, skill development and recreational programming.
The project also serves as part of the lasting legacy of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the Philadelphia region. As excitement surrounding the world’s largest sporting event continues to grow, community projects like the Pottstown Soccer Mini Pitch help ensure that the impact of the tournament extends beyond the matches themselves and creates opportunities for future generations to enjoy the game.
Now a permanent part of the Pottstown Parks System, the Pottstown Soccer Mini Pitch will provide a dedicated space for players of all ages to gather, play and experience the game for years to come.
