U.S. Soccer has announced a groundbreaking $30 million contribution from Michele Kang, a visionary businesswoman and sports owner, to advance opportunities for women and girls in soccer. This historic gift represents the largest philanthropic investment in U.S. Soccer’s women’s and girls’ programs, reinforcing the organizations commitment to equity in the sport. It builds upon initiatives such as U.S. Soccer’s historic equal pay agreement, the SheBelieves Cup, the SheChampions initiatives, and collaborations with women’s professional leagues and membership to grow women’s soccer.

Kang is the founder and CEO of Kynisca, the first global multi-team organization dedicated to women’s soccer. She also owns the Washington Spirit, Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, and London City Lionesses.

Her generosity will enable U.S. Soccer to:

  • Scale the competitive opportunities for youth players, including significantly increasing the number of youth national team camps.
  • Expand and improve our talent identification platform to showcase more female players.
  • Fuel professional development, including education and mentorship, for female players, coaches, and referees.

This transformative investment marks a new chapter for women’s soccer, creating more opportunities at every level of the game and empowering players, coaches, and referees to reach their full potential.
