More exciting news for soccer fans in Philadelphia! On Saturday, Philadelphia was selected to host the FIFA Club World Cup, a 32-team event that will be played in the United States for the first time in 2025.

Lincoln Financial Field will be one of the 12 U.S. venues, hosting clubs from around the globe as they compete to determine the best club team in the world.

Several prestigious teams such as Spain’s Real Madrid, England’s Manchester City and Chelsea, Germany’s Bayern Munich and Italy’s Inter Milan will come to the U.S. to compete in 2025. These clubs are just a few of the 30 teams already locked in for the 2025 tournament, with two final spots still to be filled – one from South America and one from the U.S.

Once all 32 teams are confirmed, a draw in December will split the teams into eight groups of four. After that, the full match schedule will be released, giving Philadelphia soccer fans the chance to see who will be competing in the City of Brotherly Love.

Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer is proud to celebrate this historic event and encourages families, players and fans to join the excitement. Stay tuned for more updates on the schedule and special events around the city.

Let’s show the world how Eastern Pennsylvania’s clubs, players and families celebrate soccer!
