Seven Eastern Pennsylvania Teams Head to USYS National Championships

July 21, 2025 by easternpennsylvaniayouthsocceradmin

Seven teams will represent Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer at the 2025 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Orlando, Florida from July 23-28. These teams earned their place on the national stage through dominant runs at the state, regional, and league levels, and now they’ll face off against the best teams in the country in the most prestigious youth soccer championship.

HEX FC Dominion 11G (14U Girls)
HEX FC Dominion 11G, one of four National League qualifiers from Eastern Pennsylvania, reached the final of the 2025 State Cup and will look to carry that momentum into Nationals.

YMS 10B Premier United (15U Boys)
YMS 10B Premier United returns to Nationals for the second straight year, looking to build on its 2024 semifinal appearance. The 2025 State Cup champions and National League qualifiers were also State Cup finalists in 2023 and will look to continue their upward trajectory on the national stage.

HEX FC Dominion 09G (16U Girls)
HEX FC Dominion 09G, also National League qualifiers, were finalists in the 2025 State Cup and bring both momentum, grit, and consistency to the national tournament.

Penn FC Youth 2008 F Black (17U Girls)
Penn FC Youth 2008 F Black head to Orlando as both Eastern Regional Champions and 2025 State Cup finalists. The team’s consistent high-level performance this year makes them as a strong contender.

FC DELCO NAL ’06 (18/19U Boys)
FC DELCO NAL ‘06 completed a dominant run through three major competitions, winning the State Cup, Eastern Regionals, and the NAL National Championship. The last FC DELCO team to win the McGuire Cup, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, was in 2003.

HEX FC Dominion 06/07B (18/19U Boys)
HEX FC Dominion is led by legendary coach Mike Gorni, who returns to Nationals after winning the McGuire Cup in 2019. Gorni’s resume includes five national titles, 42 state championships, and 26 years of experience with the Olympic Development Program. Seven Eastern Pennsylvania Teams Win Big at the 2025 Eastern Presidents Cup

June 18, 2025 by easternpennsylvaniayouthsocceradmin

Seven teams from Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer claimed regional titles at the 2025 Eastern Presidents Cup, punching their tickets to the National Presidents Cup this July in Tampa, Florida.

Facing tough competition from across the East Region, these teams showed composure, discipline, and quality throughout the five-day tournament. Their performances not only earned them hardware but also highlighted the strength and depth of talent coming out of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Here’s a closer look at the teams that brought home the titles:

Penn Fusion Soccer Academy Regional Elite 2013 (U12 Girls)
Penn Fusion’s U12 girls put on a masterclass all weekend, going undefeated and outscoring opponents 16-1 over five matches. Their run included four clean sheets, and they closed it out with a dominant 4-0 performance in the final to capture the region’s youngest title.

Steel United PA 11B Elite (U14 Boys)
Steel United powered through the U14 division with grit and consistency, finishing the tournament 4-0-1. After a strong showing in group play, they edged out Shenandoah Valley in a dramatic shootout to secure the title.

Huntingdon Valley AA Stingers 2010 (U15 Boys)
HVAA’s U15 boys turned in a complete performance during the weekend, finishing 4-0-1 and closing with a decisive 3-0 win in the final. Along the way, they earned wins over top teams from Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey, scoring 11 goals and conceding just three.

Keystone FC Premier 09G (U16 Girls)
Keystone’s U16 girls were dominant from start to finish, finishing the tournament 5-0 while scoring 17 goals. They shut out four of their five opponents, including FC Berna Legacy in the final, showcasing one of the strongest backlines in the event.

Vereinigung Erzgebirge SC VE Mountaineers (U18 Boys)
The Mountaineers built momentum with each match, finishing the Eastern Presidents Cup 3-0-1. After strong group stage wins, they outlasted State College 2-1 in the final to bring home the U18 boys crown.

Carlisle Area Youth Soccer Cannons 07/08G (U18 Girls)
Carlisle’s U18 girls left no doubt in their title run. The Cannons went undefeated with three wins, all of which were shutouts. Their scoring depth and defensive discipline made them a force in every match, outscoring opponents 11-0.

Lower Merion SC 007’s (U19 Boys)
LMSC dominated every step of the way, finishing a perfect 5-0 with an incredible 20-1 goal differential. The 007’s recorded four clean sheets and delivered a commanding 5-0 win in the final to cap off a flawless run in the oldest age group.

With seven championship titles and ten total teams advancing, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer will be well-represented at the National Presidents Cup this July. US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, and AYSO Returning to Seasonal-Year Age Group Formation in 2026

March 26, 2025 by easternpennsylvaniayouthsocceradmin

FRISCO, Texas (March 5, 2025) – US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club Soccer, and American Youth
Soccer Organization (AYSO), today announced that they have agreed to adopt the seasonal year age
group formation cycle for its players starting with each’s 2026-27 season. USYS Board Chair Tina
Rincon, U.S. Club Soccer CEO Mike Cullina, and AYSO National President Doug Ryan made the
announcement.

The cycle, which will run from September 1 to August 31, represents the opportunity for more players
in the each’s system to play club-based soccer with their classmates.
Rincon, Cullina, and Ryan offer the following statement:

“The three organizations coming together to put our nation’s youth soccer players first is a
positive move. Soccer, regardless of the level of competition, is meant to be fun – and it is more
fun when players can play with their friends and classmates. This decision is the right move for
the millions playing in each of our respective systems and we are thrilled to establish this
standard and find common ground.”

The decision stems from a U.S. Soccer Federation policy put in place late in 2024 empowering
member organizations to be the decision-maker on the registration choices for leagues and
competitions that they sanction and/or run.

Rincon, who also serves as the US Soccer Youth Council Chair, detailed the following on behalf of
the council:

“We are excited that the three largest member organizations have aligned to make a decision that
will bring the youth soccer landscape together, rather than further fracturing it. We received input
from a variety of sources that helped us reach this decision and meet our goal of increasing
participation in our sport. We look forward to continuing to work with other member organizations to
make the best choices for youth soccer players and continue collaborating with clubs and leagues
to ensure a smooth transition next year.”

The three organizations’ registration parameters will not change for next season (2025-26) and will
affect rostering beginning in August 2026.

Aligning with the school-year calendar is a return to a policy in place prior to a 2016 U.S. Soccer
decision to move to birth-year registration (January 1 –December 31). The change was made in effort
to align with international soccer standards.

Youth players born before September 1 will have the opportunity to play up with older age groups in
accordance with their club’s governance.

U.S. Soccer performed an assessment of available data (e.g., 2020 U.S. Census & National Center
for Education Statistics) and qualitative feedback and determined that September 1 represents most
school districts’ calendars (~68%) across the country.
