Kylian Mbappé led the French with a beautiful goal in the 14th minute. He added another goal in the second half, putting his name in the running for the Golden Boot. Ousmane Dembélé capped off the victory with France’s third goal. France controlled the match from start to finish.
The match was heavily affected by severe weather, resulting in a lengthy halftime delay. Play was suspended for nearly two hours as fans sought shelter inside the stadium. It marked the first weather-related delay of the tournament.
The win secured France’s place in the knockout stage and kept Les Bleus atop Group I heading into their final group match.
