Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer’s 2020 Annual General Meeting


On Sunday, February 23rd, 2020, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer held its Annual General Meeting for all member organizations. The event, held in Reading Pennsylvania, was one of the largest Annual Meetings in recent years with well over 400 attendees. Eastern Pennsylvania’s President, Jeff Sommer presided over the meeting. Chief Executive Officer, Chris Branscome updated the membership with highlights having occurred over the last year including LVU’s U19 US Youth Soccer Championship which brought home the James P. Mcguire Cup, the success of US Soccer in the Women’s World Cup, Coaching education achievements from our staff, Registration software transition, and much more. Branscome announced initiatives to address poor sideline behavior and referee abuse as well as supporting women in coaching and administrative roles.


In addition to the annual business of the meeting, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer welcomed a special guest to speak to our membership. The Chair of the 2026 World Cup Host City Bid Committee and Comcast Sr. Executive Vice President, David Cohen, gave an update about the status of the bid, and how the soccer community of Eastern Pennsylvania would be a vital part of securing Philadelphia’s position as one of the final 16 host cities. Mr. Cohen unveiled the new logo as well as information on NBC Sports Premier League Mornings Live show coming to Philadelphia April 4 & 5. 




Eastern Pennsylvania held elections for various positions on its Board of Directors. We congratulate the following on their election:
