17 Local Soccer Clubs Benefit from Emergency Relief Fund

Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer is pleased to announce today it has awarded seventeen member organizations grants to assist with soccer field repair and to replace equipment that was damaged in the storms and floods this past September.  Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer is excited to partner with such great organizations to help meet these needs.

"We’re happy to be in a position where we can provide additional funding to help in the clean-up and repair of area fields, as well as provide new equipment at a reduced cost.  This will allow kids to get back on the field quicker and with a lower cost to our clubs," said Chris Branscome, Chief Executive Officer.  “Hopefully, this helps the clubs enough so that they can again focus on the kids and playing soccer.

The 2011 Emergency Relief Fund was created in response to the devastating damage created by Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee and the subsequent flooding. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer’s Board of Directors has set aside $25,000 to be used for cash or equipment grants to those affiliates in need. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer partners, Angelo’s Soccer Corner and Kwik Goal played a valuable role by providing lower costs and addressing additional needs of clubs throughout the state.
