Re: ADVANCED STATE REFEREE COURSE FOR REFEREE GRADES 5
and 6
Date: October 8, 2002
1. The National Program for Referee Development is pleased
to announce that it will conduct a series of training sessions
for State-Level Referees in 2003. The program is designed
to be step 1 in the preparation of future National Referees.
2. The National Program for Referee Development will arrange
for the instructors to conduct the course at a location of
your choice. All the expenses for the instructors will be
the responsibility of the United States Soccer Federation
National Program for Referee Development. The two-day course
can be conducted on Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday.
3. The hosting state association will be responsible to arrange
for and pay for the facility/meeting rooms, audio/visual equipment,
local printing or copying of course handouts and any refreshments
that they wish to provide for the referees.
4. These courses will be scheduled equitably between the
four regions on a first come first serve basis. To request
a course to be scheduled for your state association, send
a letter addressed to:

In your letter please indicate:
· Your preferred week-end date for the course to be
conducted.
· The city in which you wish the clinic to be conducted,
and any important details on transportation access if the
clinic is in a remote location.
· The name and phone number of your appointed site
coordinator.
I encourage you to send your request as soon as possible
to facilitate our planning and improve your chances of obtaining
a course in your area.
