RE: INTERMEDIATE LEVEL TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR REFEREE
GRADES 7 & 8
Date: October 8, 2002
1. The National Program for Referee Development is planning
a series of two-day Entry/Intermediate Level Training Workshops
for grades 7 and 8 referees during 2003. These workshops will
focus on various topics.
2. The National Program for Referee Development will arrange
for one referee instructor to conduct the clinic at your location.
All travel, lodging and meals for the instructor will be the
responsibility of the U.S. Soccer National Program for Referee
Development. The workshops should be scheduled for two days,
Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday.
3. The hosting state association will be responsible to arrange
for and pay for meeting rooms, audio/visual equipment, local
printing or copying of clinic handouts and any refreshments
that you wish to provide for the referees.
4. These workshops will be scheduled equitably between the
four regions on a first come first serve basis. To request
that a workshop be scheduled for your state, send a letter
addressed to:

In your letter, please indicate:
· Your preferred week-end date for the workshop to
be conducted.
· The city in which you wish the clinic to be conducted,
and any important details on transportation access if the
clinic is in a remote location.
· The name and phone number of your appointed site
coordinator.
I encourage you to send your letter as soon as possible to
facilitate our planning and your chances of obtaining a workshop
in your area.
