Executive
Vice-President: Frank attended the USYSA meeting in Des Moines, Iowa.
Vice
President Travel: Jim reported on the West Chester Delacy State Cup Finals
for the U-18 & 19 boys and the U-15 & up girls. Jim also attended the
Regional Finals in Virginia Beach over 4th of July weekend. EPYSA had a record
number of teams make it to the semi-finals. Six teams won in their age group and
5 teams made it to the Nationals.
Vice President Recreation: Charlotte
reported for Bob. Youth Soccer Month is September. There are a number of events
scheduled:
Aug. 19th Myerstown, Kohl's festival; August 26th Governor Mifflin,
Kohl's festival; Aug. 27th Twin Valley; Sept. 9th & 10th Wyoming Valley; Sept.
16th Buckingham, TopSoccer; Sept. 17th Plymouth; Sept 23 Danville; Sept. 24th
Roslyn, Kohl's Festival; October 7th West Chester, Kohl's Festival; October 21st
Fox Chase, Kohl's Festival. We are trying to contact the mayors to get proclamations
for Youth Soccer Month.
Treasurer: Aggregated all of our free
cash, and working on finding the highest yield investment that is safe.
Registrar: No report
SYRA: ODP and Regionals went very well
for the officials again this year. We had 30 officials and four assessors attend
the ODP tournament, and 13 officials and 3 assessors attend the regional tournament.
Both tournaments were a success for EPA officials. John Barr and Ross Kleinstuber
did well, and were chosen to work a final. There are two more intermediate clinics.
They will be held on Nov. 4th in Wilkes Barre and Nov. 5th in Williamsport. Five
intermediate clinics have been completed as well as the state clinic held at Morgantown.
Mike Zdradinski was selected as EPA male youth of the year. Mike was also chosen
as the male referee of the year for Region 1. Cindy was invited to attend the
1st Annual Lititz Soccer Tournament for Breast Cancer Awareness. She said it was
very nicely run. Discussion followed about the referee assignors and whether or
not they should be using a mandatory form to give to all the officials to use
at cup games. It was agreed that all referees should use the form now provided
online.
Exec. Director's Report: Please volunteer to help with the
Rec. Festivals when they are in your area. Charlotte handed out a list of players
that made the Region 1 ODP pool. She also reported on the EPYSA scholarship winners.
Dan Evans, Lanco United, attending East Stroudsburg; Kaitlyn Horinko, Towamensing;
Penn State; Ashton Paul, York United; Univ. of Miami; Brooks Tomazin; Annville-Cleona,
Millersville. Resident camp went very well this year, with over 300 campers and
a good staff. We were invited to participate in Macy's "Shop for a Cause".
We get $5.00 for every 20% off coupon we sell.
President's Report:
The National Youth finals will be televised Friday, August 11, on FOX at 8:00p.m.
The girl's U-14 team lost in overtime, and the Delco U-19's captain had a great
talk with his team after the game, and they were awarded the Fair Play Award.
District

3. Several clubs are being
squeezed off their fields. The townships are overreacting to one person calling
in and complaining, and they are charging the youth programs for field maintenance.

5. Upper Bucks losing girls teams to PAGS. Valley Soccer High
School Festival Day will be played in one day. Deep Run purchased a tract of land.
Valley Soccer Club is working with Upper Perk to develop land.

8. Registering teams for fall, hoping to have a U-16 boy's age group
to play in the fall.
Lititz Soccer Summer Showcase had 88 teams and college
coaches were available for the older age groups. They have decided to continue
it again for next year. New Referee Assignor, Darrell Bohannon. The Hass Attack
3v 3 tournament is being held at Lebanon Valley College for the John Hassinger
Scholarship fund. John is paralyzed from the chest down from a recent diving accident
this summer.

Lost six fields from all the rain, the damage is significant. Whitewater Classic
looking for fields. NE Travel is re-organizing. Back Mountain picked up teams
from the Pocono's.

opened up tournament play. Spirit United girls and boys tournaments coming up.

17. Thursday night
is the fall coaches meeting.
New Business: Because of the
rising costs of referee fees and charges from the indoor facilities, a motion
was made by Ned, to increase the Indoor State Cup Fee, from $235 to $250. Seconded
by Marty. All approved. The Exec. Board had a meeting in Des Moines, Iowa, and
EPYSA is hosting the 2008 Regional Meeting.

Good
of the game: Meeting minutes from the July USYSA meeting in Des Moines are
on the website. Larry Monaco from VA was elected President. There was a newspaper
article about Mike Barr in the Phila.Inquirer about coaches and sideline behavior.
