Call to order: VP Frank Olszewski called the meeting to order at 7:10PM.

Minutes/Secretary - The minutes for the November, 2002 meeting were read. Motion by Tom Corey Second by Sue Hackett.  Corrections: correction on Tony DiCicco’s name.  Kim DiFiore was not in attendance. Motion passed.

Executive VP Report:  Frank reviewed the 5-year planning meeting that was held with the committee.  They had extended discussion on small sided games and how the best way to implement and support this for our membership.

VP Travel: no report

VP Intramural:  Bill stated that the intramural season is finishing and he is starting to get questions on the small-sided game issue.

Registrar Report:  There was a conference call with Demosphere.  The committee made some changes on the specs and resubmitted them to Demosphere.  Demosphere will now revise the timeline to match new specs. They are still expecting everything to be up and running in March with new program.

Marty O’Donnell asked about the contract and has it been signed.  Greg and Donna explained that things are still going forward but our attorney is still working on the contract with Demosphere.

Treasurer’s Report:  Ned reported that they had to defer the audit for later.  Ned reported that there was a $200.000 surplus at the end of fiscal year 8/2002.  He stated that report would be ready in 2-3 weeks.

SYRA:  Cindy reported that they are still looking for more nominations for Youth Referee of the year. 

The referee association is acting on requirements for staying certified.

Executive Director:

  • ODPFall tryouts are completed and letters are out for most age groups.  U 17-19 will be going out soon.  Our U13 will be having indoor training at 4 new locations.
  • Workshop – The workshop will be held on 3/8/03 at the Valley Forge Convention Center.  Greg asked for some ideas on promoting this event.  It will be $15 per coach and $5 for youth.  
  • Indoor Cup – applications are in at the state office.  There was discussion and concerns with the new touchline rule.  It was suggested that each facility we visited before games begin.
  • Outdoor Cup – application are on the web site and touchline.  The rules are also on the web site.
  • Coaching license – There will be a National “C” in about March at United Sports.   Please check web site for courses.
  • League Select festival – Greg read draft of rule changes for festival.  We will have copy for everyone at next meeting.
  • Coach of the Year nomination – Nevin Shenk has received the nomination for Regional Coach of the Year.
  • Uni Royal Buddy of the Year award went to Melissa Gargione
  • Jersey ruling – sleeveless jersey rule has been put on hold
  • Youth Module course on 11/23 certified 15 new people

District Reports:

1-     IGSL registrar has resigned.  United Junior is having select tryouts.  There will be a referee class in January.

2-     Absent

3-     No report

4-     No report

5-     The select tryouts are over but numbers were down.  The league play is over with fewer cautions this year

6-     The select tryouts are over.  There will be a Presidents meeting in January.

7-     Absent

8-     Hempfield Fall classic only got one day in due to weather. Canceled play on Sunday.   Snowflake league will begin this week.

9-     CenPen premier league for U15, 16 and 17 will begin this weekend.  CSRA will have a referee class in January and February.

10-  Absent

11-  Absent

13- Absent

      14- PAGS had select tryouts with players signing up for the academy.  Happy Holiday to everyone!

      15- The select tryouts are finish.  The league play has been extended due to weather.

      16- Absent

      17- Their league play is wrapping up. 

Old Business:

Wim asked if any information on financial relief for a inner city program has been found.  Dave Edgecombe stated he talked to Charlotte and that we have given financial relief I the past.  Rick asked Wim to get in touch with John Kukitz to find out their needs.

Donna Outt discussed clubs that were fined for late registration.  All clubs are intramural except Delco Soccer League.  They are asking for exemption of fine.  Some are very small clubs.  It was stated that every organization was contacted twice via phone and with letter.  Wim suggested that we reduce fine.

Motion to rescind fine of $500 for Jim Thorpe, Dallastown and Red Lion was made by Donna Outt. Motion failed with no second.

Motion to keep fine as it stands at $500for Jim Thorpe Red lion and Dallastown but rebate club $300 was made by Tome Corey, Second by Wim Roset. Motion was defeated.

Donna Outt will take the discussion on clubs that did submit paperwork on time but by no fault of their doing it was delayed under consideration.
