Outdoor Cup Weekend Recap 4-30-2018

Continental FC Challenge Cup

Another weekend, another step closer to the Cup Finals. Here's how some of the action played out Saturday and Sunday. 

Eastern Pennsylvania NCS State Cup

  • FC Europa is in the finals! The Chester County-based club defeated Penn Fusion, 1-0, in the U12 Boys division to clinch a shot at the title. They'll meet the winner of Lower Merion SC Rogue Wave and HMMS, which square off on Saturday 
  • The U12 Girls division also got its first finalist: PA Classics Academy beat Philadelphia Soccer Club COPPA Elite, 6-2.

Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup

  • Lititz Edge finds itself in the U17 Boys semifinals thanks to a 2-0 win over 1776 United. That completes the final four in what has been a highly competitive division. Lititz will play Penn Fusion in one semifinal, Council Rock United takes on Ukrainian Nationals in the other. Both games will be played this Sunday, May 6.
  • Upper Dublin Sky Black reached the semifinals of the U13 Girls division by winning Group A. Upper Dublin defeated FC Ballyhoo Black, 4-0, to take the top spot. Manheim Township Elite Blue waits in the semifinals.

Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup

  • Continental FC Dortmund outscored its two opponents 7-0 in winning Group B with a 2-0 record. Dortmund will now play Fishtown Rowdies, 3-0 winners over Penn Fusion on Saturday, in the U11 Boys A quaterfinals.
  • We saw a potential finals preview in the U19 Girls division. Penn Alliance Black Lightning beat Berks Ajax Express, 1-0, to move to first place in the group at 3-0. Berks Ajax Express is now 3-1. The top two teams will play in the final in June.
