Recreation Coach of the YearHonors a superior
recreation coach active in the game of soccer and also in the children's lives
that play the game. Application Requirements Similar
to the coach of the year for travel award, this award goes to the outstanding
coach of an recreation team. As the award name implies, the recipient needs to
be active in his/her organization's recreation program. Characteristics of interest
to the committee reviewing the nominations are patience and teaching ability,
an appreciation of the fact that participation and fun are their own rewards,
and that their love of the game is expressed by their efforts to develop players.
This nominee should be a both a role model on and off the playing field and show
the true spirit of the game while advancing their player's skills to higher levels. Nominations
should be mailed to the state office by January 15. In addition, a brief resume
of the nominee and an explanation of their qualifications to receive the award
should accompany the nomination. All nominations should be
