Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Announces 2019 Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizenship Award Recipients
The 18 awardees will be honored at the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Annual Awards Banquet on February 22 and at Good Citizen Day, hosted by the Union League, on May 1.
Plymouth Meeting, PA— Each year, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer honors high school juniors involved in the state association with the Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizenship Award. These students exemplify qualities of cooperative effort, self-control, perseverance, serious scholarship and good sportsmanship, while upholding the best traditions of American patriotism.
The 2019 recipients will be recognized at the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Annual Awards Banquet at the Sheraton Valley Forge on February 22 and at Good Citizen Day at the Union League of Philadelphia on May 1. Tickets to the Annual Awards Banquet can be purchased at EPYSA.org.
“These awardees have shown both a passion for soccer and for bettering others around them,” said Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer CEO Chris Branscome. “They’ve distinguished themselves as leaders among a talented group of applicants, and represent the qualities Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer hopes all youth players aspire to.”
The 2019 Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizenship Award recipients represent 17 different clubs—with one U.S.S.F. Grade 8 referee—and possess wide-ranging soccer experience as players, volunteers, TOPSoccer buddies and referees in addition to their outstanding scholarship and community service. The Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizenship Award recipients are selected by the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Good Citizenship Committee after a thorough review of all applicants.
