LVU, LMSC Rats Clinch Places In 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships
Two of the best teams in the age group nationally, Lower Merion Soccer Club Rats and Lehigh Valley United Black met in the 2018 Under-18 Boys Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup Final. LVU won 3-0.

Long-time rivals Lower Merion Soccer Club Rats and Lehigh Valley United Black each booked trips to Overland Park, KS., where nationals will be held, with guaranteed top-two finishes in the US Youth Soccer National League. Play concluded December 31 in Orlando, Florida.

The two teams seem inseparable. After the 2018 Under-18 Boys Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup Final, a 3-0 LVU win against LMSC, their records stood at 3-3 over a six-game stretch.
Here's how each team secured a place in the US Youth Soccer National Championships.
LMSC clinched a top-two place in the 19U Boys Red Division in National League by going 5-0 in group play. The Rats outscored opponents, 15-2, over those five games, with a 7-0 victory over NCFC Elite the highlight.
In Blue Division play, LVU outscored opponents, 11-1, and went 4-1-0 to clinch a top-two finish. LVU started 4-0 in the National League before dropping its final game, 1-0.
