The Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup is a statewide championship that is part of the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup National Event. The Presidents Cup is an open competition that is focused on teams that wish to play in a statewide competition that also offers opportunity at the regional and national level. The Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup champion advances to Region I Presidents Cup. Regional winners advance to the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.
The Presidents Cup for U-12 (8v8 only) and U-13 to U-17 (11v11) boys and girls will be conducted during the March to May time period.
The Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer State Cup (NCS) U12 age group has adopted an 8v8 format ONLY (maximum roster of 14 players for the entire current season – including guest players and/or secondary players). In order to participate in an 8v8 playing format, a team cannot have gone over 14 players on their roster at any point during the current seasonal year. (Example: 14 Primary Players + 2 Secondary Players makes a team ineligible for U12 Cup play; 12 Primary Players + 2 Secondary Players would mean the team is ELIGIBLE to compete in the U12 Cups but only the 12 PRIMARY Players could compete in the Cups). Any U12 teams playing in any divisions of approved leagues are not U13 Cup-eligible. To be eligible and to play in the U13 Cup there must be nine (9) age-pure U13 players on the original league-approved roster.
Any team participating in the Presidents Cup will be ineligible to participate in the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) or Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup.
The Presidents Cup adopts ‘World Cup’ format for all ages. Group Games and playoffs will be played at home/away fields determined randomly by The Cup Draw (teams are randomly selected) into a predetermined schedule. Only The Final will be played at a neutral site. An age group requires four (4) teams for competition to be offered. If less than four (4) teams enter, combined age groups may be created at the discretion of the Cup Commissioner. The winners of the World Cup format brackets will advance to the appropriate single-elimination bracket (i.e. divisional playoffs, quarter-finals, semi-finals, etc.). The Finals will be scheduled by Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer at their sole discretion. Teams, regardless of age, may be scheduled to play their Final on a Saturday or Sunday of Championship Weekend – all games will be scheduled for the same weekend day – Saturday or Sunday. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer cannot accept any scheduling requests. Coaches with multiple teams in The Finals should make arrangements to have – AT LEAST ONE ADDITIONAL ADULT WITH A VALID COACHING PASS present for The Final. Any teams losing their coach during the course of The Final (send off, obligation) cannot proceed unless a valid team official with a current coach/administrator pass is present and assumes the duties of said coach
All roster freeze dates will “freeze” at 4:00 PM EDT of that particular day. Team rosters will remain frozen (no adding or transferring players) until elimination from the competition or being crowned champion. Teams must request to have their roster ‘Unfrozen’. Upon confirmation of Cup elimination or being crowned champion, a team may have its roster ‘Unfrozen’.
Winners of the Presidents Cup will represent Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer at the President’s Cup Regional Championships. Regional winners in the Under-13 through Under-17 groups, both Boys and Girls, will vie for the National title.
Entry into the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Presidents Cup competition acknowledges the above and also represents an agreement to participate in the Region I and US Youth Soccer National competitions. Should Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer receive a wild card slot for the Region I competition, the Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup runner-up will represent Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer.
The Presidents Cup application fee is $225.00. This application fee represents the entrance fee ONLY and does not include referee fees. Referee fees are split between the two competitors according to the current seasonal year referee fee schedule. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer pays ALL referee fees for The Finals.
The Presidents Cup Finals are scheduled to be played Sunday, May 1st, 2016.
